Palaeontology Gallery (1168 specimens): Contains fossils of paleomammals from the Tertiary period (60 million - 2 million years ago). These include, for example, Proboscidea, Perissodactyla, Artiodactyla andCarnivora, collected from various parts of Turkey, together with plant fossils from 350 million years ago (such as Pteropsida and Lycopside) and various invertebrate fossils. There are examples of the ancestory of the Perissodactyla, Proboscidea and Primata orders which lived 60 million years ago, together with their contemporary representatives with posters. Fossils are arranged according to geological time and evolution. In the Gallery, the most outstanding materials are a 10.000 year old sample found in Salihli District of Manisa, bearing the footprint of a person fleeing from a volcanic eruption, and the skeleton of a Syrian elephant (Elephas maxima asurus) found in Kahramanmaraş.
